Klaus (not Claudio) Gasser, an Italian from Alto Adige with an accent like Arnold Schwarzenegger, was kind enough to provide Master Sommelier Thomas Burke and the team at Wirtz Beverage, Nevada, with the opportunity to taste a few older vintages from Terlano’s cellar, including a 1959 and 1971 Pinot Bianco.

We just opened the bottles and they are showing amazingly. No visible signs of oxidation, completely clear and pale yellow. This is going to be one tasting to remember!
We have 30 top sommeliers coming to join us at the Wirtz Alchemy Room now… More to come on the wines…

About The Author

I love all things Italian: the beautiful country of Italia, the Italians themselves, the language, the food… and above all, I love Italian wine. The people I meet in my charmed life are fascinating, the wines are extraordinary. I needed a special place like this to write about them, and to remember them.
