Beautiful arugula and shaved artichoke salad at Terra Rossa in the Red Rock Casino.  What more could you ask than a glass of Terlano’s Nova Domus? Elegant acidity, perfumed with mountain flowers and wet stones. Perfection.

About The Author

I love all things Italian: the beautiful country of Italia, the Italians themselves, the language, the food… and above all, I love Italian wine. The people I meet in my charmed life are fascinating, the wines are extraordinary. I needed a special place like this to write about them, and to remember them.

  1. Come Due Maiali

    Hey Joanie,
A good friend of mine is going to SF in a couple of weeks for a conference, and would like to eat some awesome seafood, sushi, and Asian food in general. What are your recs du jour? He is staying in the Financial District, but could probably travel a bit for a meal.

Not Joanie here, but a few SF suggestions for 2pigs:
    Lers Ros for Thai
    La Mar for Peruvian seafood
    Yank Sing for dim sum
    Slanted Door for Cal-Vietnamese
Tadich (or Sam’s) for old-school seafood (cioppino or sand dabs)
    Waterbar for new-school seafood
