Next Thursday, November 17th, the Montage’s Loft Restaurant will be hosting a wine dinner of epic proportions. Join us as we eat and drink like royalty- and celebrate Italy’s most incredible Franciacorta producer, Ca’ del Bosco!

The Ca’ del Bosco dinner at the Montage will be a rare opportunity to taste some of Ca’ del Bosco’s finest vintages and selections, paired with a menu specifically designed around each wine. I had the pleasure and privilege to sit with Chef Casey Overton and Wine Director Troy Smith as they tasted each wine and conceptualized every course.
Not an understatement- this is an evening you won’t want to miss!
We will start with a glimpse into Ca’ del Bosco’s vineyard- tasting the winery’s rarely seen still Chardonnay alongside Chef Overton’s selection of hors d’oeurves. This wine is a beautiful example of how perfect certain parts of Italy’s terroir can be for the Chardonnay vine. It’s a lovely introduction to the winery’s sparkling legacy, founded for the most part on a base of Chardonnay.
The following courses will feature Ca’ del Bosco’s famous single vineyard, the Anna Maria Clementi 2003 Franciacorta, as well as the founder’s eponymous “Maurizio Zanella” a red wine made from Cabernet, Merlot and Cabernet Franc grapes. We were able to secure bottles from the 1996 vintage for this event- a rare treat! Also intriguing and almost unheard of- an Italian Carmenere (from 1999!) Maurizio Zanella is one of the only Italian producers to have experimented with this grape. You simply have to taste this wine to believe it.
The food promises to be delightful- seasonal, delicious and in perfect harmony with these beautiful wines. This is the ultimate Italian wine experience- food served to compliment and enhance each wine, and a wine expert like Troy Smith to guide you through each course. Vittorio Marzotto will also be in attendance to answer any questions about his family’s winery. This is sure to be a fun and exciting evening, tailor-made for Italian wine lovers and foodies alike.
