“There is nothing more beautiful than a vineyard.” Cesare Pavese wrote this verse nearly 60 years ago, part of a beautiful ode to the Piemontese hillsides where his heart felt so at home. Although I am not a native to the area, I can understand the feeling. Nothing in Italy pulls as sweetly to me as the gentle roll of the vineyards that blanket Piemonte. Recently UNESCO named these vineyard landscapes to be part of the World Heritage Sites. Bravo, Piemonte. Bravo!
